Top Gear bosses deny Cruise and Diaz's laps were fixed

Top Gear bosses have denied that the laps that Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz completed on the show were fixed.

The two A-listers recently took the top two spots on the leader board on the British show when they took part in the 'Star In A Reasonably Priced Car' feature.

Some viewers had texted in to BBC radio shows saying they thought the laps had been fixed but the show's executive producer has denied the claims.

He said: "We are listening to armchair experts who don't know a thing. They weren't there, they don't understand how laps are done. Their times were accurate, their times were truthful.

"It really saddens me that people who don't know anything can then sour the moment."

Nicolas Cage: New movie inspired by sorcerer father

Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage has revealed that his new fantasy movie, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, is a tribute to his late father.

At a recent press conference for the new film, the 46-year-old star said that the movie was inspired by his university-professor father August Coppola, who died last October.

"He was the sorcerer in my life," Cage said. "He was only interested in expanding young people's life. He really wanted me to think big and use my imagination.

"So this movie is really my ode to all the teachers out there who don't really get paid anything, but do their best to empower young people's minds."

Cage, who has been plagued by financial and legal woes in recent years, said the movie was also sparked by his own interest in English history.

"I like to take my personal interests and put it into my profession life," he said.

"I had an interest in ancient English mythology - the Arthurian-Grail Cycles - and wanted a way to apply that to a family movie.

"It occurred to me that if I could play an ancient sorcerer hailing from the time of Merlin that that would be a way to do that."

After a clip of the movie was shown, he was teased about how his modern-day character appeared to have few links to such “ancient English history”.

"He's a thousand years old, living in modern Manhattan, so he's lost his accent," he said with a smile.

Tom Felton convinced real-life girlfriend to play Harry Potter wife in final scene

Harry Potter star Tom Felton said he convinced his real-life girlfriend to play his on-screen wife in the final movie.

Felton, 22, plays the role of evil Draco Malfoy in the hit movie series, and the final scene is set 19 years in the future and sees the main characters sending their own children off to school at Hogwarts.

Felton's real-life girlfriend, Jade Olivia, a stunt assistant on Harry Potter, played his on-screen wife Astoria Malfoy in the final scene.

He said to MTV News: "She was at first reluctant, but I pulled her arm and twisted it. She was filming with me for three days at King's Cross [railway station]. We were very excited.

"It gave me a chance to see what she's going to look like in 19 years. And if that's what she looks like, I'm doing pretty well for myself. But I look terrible. The years have not been kind to me in the slightest.

"But what can I do? I've gotta just roll with it."

Sharon Stone: My love lifes like the Mojave desert

Sharon Stone says that her love life is like the "Mojave desert" despite having men in their 20s chasing after her.

The 52-year-old actress tells US women's magazine More: "Life and love is like the ocean. Sometimes the tide is in and sometimes the tide is out, and sometimes it's like the frigging Mojave.

"Where's the tide now? For me? Mojave! Fortunately, I like the desert. I'm a desert flower."

But the Casino stars says she has no shortage of offers, especially from younger men who want to date her.

"I really get pursued by men in their 20s, like a lot," the actress says in the June issue of the women's magazine.

"They probably know there's food in the fridge and that somebody's going to talk to them and ask them how their day was."

The mother-of-three, who is celebrated for her good looks, says that she still suffers from self-doubts. She says: "We all go through it. We wrestle all day long with, 'How am I unlovable? Am I too tall, too short, too thin, too blonde, too brown? Why is my life not perfect?'"

And despite having fillers injected into her lips after she got divorced from ex-husband Phil Bronstein in 2004, Stone says that these days she intends to age gracefully - but not without style.

"You know, I'm still wearing a bikini," Stone says, before adding, "I'll be wearing leather pants when I'm 70 because that's my style."
