Selena Gomez – Slow Down (Audio)
Cutting tobacco, selling insurance and helping old ladies try on shoes are just some of the jobs George Clooney did before he was a movie star, the Ocean’s Eleven actor has revealed. The Oscar-winner comes clean about his past in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. He tells the entertainment bible why he will never complain about being in showbiz. “I cut tobacco for a living in Kentucky – that was hard work,” the 50-year-old says when asked if acting was fun or not. “I sold insurance door to door – that’s hard work. “Acting is not hard work. If you’re lucky enough to be sitting at a table like this, you’ve been very lucky in your life. “Is it hard work? It’s long hours, but nobody wants to hear you complain. “I remember I was selling women’s shoes at a department store, which is a lousy job. It sounds like it’d be great, but it wasn’t elegant shoes. “It was 80-year-old women [saying]: ‘That’s a hammertoe!’ “You’re like: ‘I don’t want to see that!’ “I remember I would hear of famous stars complaining in Hollywood about how hard their life was – I didn’t want to hear that. “So I don’t find it difficult. I find it challenging and sometimes I’m very bad at it, but I don’t find it hard.”
Leighton Meester is apparently a Cheryl Cole fan. The 25-year old actress and sometimes singer recently shared that she’s now a big fan of the British pop star thanks to her “Monte Carlo” co-star Selena Gomez. Leighton said “I love ‘Fight for this Love.’ It’s great, although [Selena and I] would change the words to make us laugh. Over lunch or breakfast, you’d hear us singing things like, ‘You gotta jump, jump, jump, jump, jump for this bread.” Maybe she and Selena could do a parody cover of that song. Maybe they can even have Cheryl do something with them.
Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger suffered minor injuries after being involved in an accident on the set of his latest movie. The 64-year-old had to receive medical attention for a nasty cut on his head and filming was halted on his Western ‘The Last Stand’ while he was treated. The former Governor of California wrote on his Twitter page yesterday: “Got a little banged up on set today. Thanks to the medical staff who got me back in action an hour later!” The Last Stand is due to be released in 2013.
In light of the news that Amy Winehouse lost her life due to alcohol poisoning and build-up after a drinking binge, the late singer’s family released the following statement: “It is some relief to finally find out what happened to Amy. We understand there was alcohol in her system when she passed away, it is likely a buildup of alcohol in her system over a number of days. The court heard that Amy was battling hard to conquer her problems with alcohol and it is a source of great pain to us that she could not win in time. She had started drinking again that week after a period of abstinence. It underlines how important our work with the Amy Winehouse Foundation is to us, to help as many young people and children as we can in her name. It means a lot to us and from the overwhelming messages of support we have had since Amy died, we know she meant a great deal to people all over the world. We want to thank everyone for that and for their continuing enthusiasm for the Foundation.”
