Aaron Carter Owes the Government
Aaron Carter’s recent elimination from Dancing with the Stars cost him a steady pay check and the timing couldn’t come at a worst time. The government is saying that the has-been singer owes over a million dollars in back taxes. According to documents filed in Los Angeles earlier this week, the alleged former teen heartthrob owes a staggering $1,010,635.08 to the government. Maybe this was why he was crying so much after the show last week. Where is he going to get the money now? And how did he come to owe that much anyway? But then again, I doubt he was getting any money at all.
Carrie Prejean threatens to walk off 'inappropriate' Larry King Live show
Former Miss California Carrie Prejean unplugged her microphone and threatened to walk off 'inappropriate' Larry King Live show.
Prejean fumed at the veteran host after he tried to ask the dethroned pageant queen about a solo sex tape that reportedly torpedoed a lawsuit she filed against the Miss California Organisation for unfair dismissal.
Removing her microphone, she told King: "I think that you are being extremely inappropriate right now, and I'm about to leave your show."
She later replaced the microphone after King agreed not to ask her more questions about the tape or put live callers on the air with her.
Prejean - who calls Sarah Palin her hero - courted controversy for her public opposition to gay marriage and strong religious beliefs, which made her a figurehead for American conservatism.
But she was later removed from the Miss California post after topless photos of her surfaced.
The blonde beauty, 22, claimed her beliefs were behind her sacking and penned a book Still Standing about the affair.
Prejean was on to promote the book when he asked her whether revelations that she had also recorded a sex tape were behind a recent settlement with the Miss California Organisation.
Prejean had been demanding more than $1million in damages from the company for allegedly firing her because of her beliefs.
According to reports, however, she walked away with just her lawyers fees after the organisation countersued claiming Prejean had violated the terms of being Miss California by having recorded a sex tape.
Stephanie Pratt to enter 30-day in-patient rehab
The Hills star Stephanie Pratt, who was recently charged with a DUI in California, will enter a 30-day rehabilitation program.
The younger sister of Spencer Pratt pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanour count of DUI in a Los Angeles court hearing. Pratt was arrested in the early hours of the morning after she attended the birthday party of Hills co-star Holly Montag, the sister of Spencer's wife, Heidi. The celebrity couple, Spencer and Heidi, were not in attendance at the party.
Stephanie, who spoke out about the positive side of learning from the incident, has revealed she will enter the rehab program as an in-patient. She said she was close to her parents and described her arrest as a "set up". But the budding reality TV star was also able to count her blessings out of the experience.
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker has been named Philanthropist of the Year
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria Parker has been named Philanthropist of the Year in a new poll.
The 34-year-old beauty was named Philanthropist of the Year in The Hollywood Reporter's Philanthropy Issue, which highlights the actress's philanthropic work.
She was picked because of her dedication to giving back to the community as well as serving others and for her commitments to Latino causes.
THR publisher Eric Mika said: "I've never met a more conscientious and socially aware young, energetic talent.
"Eva's efforts on behalf of the causes near and dear to her are Herculean.
"She pours her free time and energy into raising millions of dollars for charitable missions that make a difference in the Latino community and other humanitarian organisations."
LA Ink star Kat Von D insists she's a 'big softie' who loves classical music
LA Ink star Kat Von D has revealed she's a big softie at heart.
The heavily tattooed sex symbol admits people think she is tough rock chick because of the way she looks.
But she insists she likes nothing more than reading a good book or listening to classical music.
And instead of going out partying with boyfriend and Motley Crue guitarist Nikki Sixx, Kat insists they prefer to stay in and read self-help books.
She said: "I am happy that people like diversity. For women, a lot of it has to do with how you carry yourself. You can be heavily tattooed and still carry yourself in a feminine way.
"I remember junior high years were really difficult - I felt like an alien because I was different. Artistically, my brain was on another level and I looked different.
"Social circles are weird and even as adults, people judge you about how you look and I've learned just not to care. I am just a big nerd.
"People think I am this huge rocker chick, but I am really just a softie at heart. I like to read a lot; I like to play classical music."
Kat claims her relationship Nikki Sixx has helped heal those high-school wounds, as the couple spend private time together studying the art of self-help.
She added: "I learn so much from him - this is the most fruitful relationship I have ever had.
"We read a lot together and we are really into self-help books and wisdom books, and it's cool - I am constantly learning from him."
NBC backs Jay Leno despite slump in ratings
US chat-show host Jay Leno's revamped primetime show is failing to draw viewers, leaving his future up in the air, according to reports.
Leno moved to NBC's primetime slot six weeks ago, but after a strong start viewing figures for his 10pm show have fallen sharply.
The show is reportedly pulling in 25 per cent fewer audience members than its preceding shows a year ago.
But an NBC spokesman said, "We believe in the combination of a bankable star like Jay Leno hosting an exciting, topical show five nights a week and are committed to continuing to engage with our affiliates in ways to make that relationship work."
Most of NBC's affiliates are said to back a long-term strategy for the show to play out over 52 weeks.
"Some of the significant dramas right now are going to run out of steam by December and be out until February,” said DJ Wilson, general manager at KGW in Portland, Oregon.
“There is a real opportunity for Leno to pop. We really agree that this is a marathon, not a sprint."
However, one manager, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that he is giving Leno until next year to improve ratings.
He said: "I give them through February. I don't think anybody is anxious to pull any triggers. Plan B is to give the 10pm hour back to the affiliates."
Simpson-Wentz axed from Melrose
Actress Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, 25, has been dropped from Melrose Place.
Simpson-Wentz and co-star Colin Egglesfield were written out of the long-running CW network drama about the residents of a Hollywood apartment block.
Simpson-Wentz, who played Violet Foster, stated: "Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill. Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance. Thanks to CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity."
Melrose executive producer Todd Slavkin told an entertainment magazine: "We felt that once the murder mystery [involving their characters] was resolved, the tone of the show was going to shift and [Simpson-Wentz's] character would move on."
Slavkin added that Simpson-Wentz and Egglesfield took the news "like professionals".
Meanwhile, co-executive producer Darren Swimmer revealed Heather Locklear's character will have a new love interest for at least three episodes. He said of the star, who has returned to show that made her name: "[Locklear is] in every episode moving forward. She's a major focus."

Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe plants a kiss on Eva Longoria as he returns to Wisteria Lane.
Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe plants a kiss on Eva Longoria as he returns to Wisteria Lane.
Metcalfe has reprised his role as John Rowland - who romped with Gaby (Eva Longoria) in the first series of the show - in the latest episode aired in the US last night.
The former lovers meet in a chance encounter as Gaby, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira) and their children go to dinner.
John has given up gardening and now owns the swanky restaurant bought with divorce-settlement money. Gaby takes note that he is back on the singles' market by letting down her hair and flashing a few subtle looks his way.
But the pair may not be about to jump straight back in the sack.
In a sneak peek at next week's show, John is seen out on a date with Gaby's niece Ana, while Gaby is later seen with a look of shock when John plants a kiss on her and the pair are caught in the act.
“Working with Jesse again brought back some great memories,” Longoria said.
"Jesse and I went through a lot together during that first year and those kind of experiences bond you for life."
Creator Marc Cherry added: "I've heard rumours of this bad-boy behaviour of Jesse's, but I've never seen it myself. The truth is, he was a perfect gentleman when he did our show in the beginning. I see a maturity now in terms of his persona and his skill, but he's still the same delightful Jesse."
Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross has said her husband Tom Mahoney is responding well to cancer treatment
Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross has said her husband Tom Mahoney is responding well to cancer treatment.
Cross, 37, who plays the role of Bree in the hit US sitcom, was at the Rock A Little, Feed A Lot benefit concert when she said that her husband was doing well.
She said to Usmagazine.com: "He is healthy, and he is going great."
Mahoney announced he was battling the illness in January this year and he later joined his wife at the event after putting their twin daughters Eden and Savannah, two, to bed.
Cross said: "He had to put the girls to bed first."
The actress starred in the original series of Melrose Place during the nineties and she said that she has yet to see an episode from the recent remake of the show.
She said: "I don't really get a chance to watch much TV at all. Maybe I'll TiVo it!"
Reality star Stephanie Pratt is going to leave The Hills
Reality star Stephanie Pratt is going to leave The Hills.
Despite the new series of the reality show just starting in the US, the cast seems to be dropping like flies.
Alongside Pratt's exit from the show, cast member Audrina Patridge has scored her own reality show and Lo Bosworth is also supposedly leaving.
Stephanie told Hollyscoop.com: "I think Audrina, Lo and I are all going to leave after these 10 episodes.
"I don't know how much more I can take of The Hills."
The 23-year-old added: "The Hills is very brutal."
New cast member Kristin Cavallari has just joined the show and is already causing drama, but Pratt insists that her leaving is not because of Cavallari.
The sister of Spencer Pratt said: "It's not because of Kristin.
"I was going to stay and see what happens after these ten episodes, but I just don't think I can stand The Hills anymore."
Stephanie, who has recently started a new job as a freelance fashion correspondent for the E! network, thinks the programme has changed to how it used to be.
She added: "We've all grown up. It's not the original girls moving to LA trying to make it. Right now everyone's fighting to be the queen or king of LA."

Hills star Stephanie Pratt isn't sure if she will be good friends with co-star Kristin Cavallari
Hills star Stephanie Pratt has said she isn't sure if she will be good friends with co-star Kristin Cavallari.
Kristin, 22, is already known for having a lot of enemies, even though the new series of the MTV reality series hasn't even started.
The sister of Spencer Pratt, Stephanie, can't decide if she is going to be friends with Kristin.
Stephanie, 23, said: "I did sleep over. I'm trying. I think we'd have a lot of fun together."
Kristin is causing a lot of drama in The Hills as she tries in the new series of the show to get together with her co-star Audrina Patridge's on-off boyfriend Justin Bobby.
Stephanie doesn't trust Kristin for this and consequently isn't sure whether or not she will be good friends with her.
She added: "If she's going in the direction she's going, which is a non-Justin Bobby direction, it's great, because maybe Audrina can somehow work it out.
"But if she's going in that direction, that means she's possibly gonna be dating someone that I don't like, and that'll be hard."

America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan left red-faced by sexy dancers
America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan was left red-faced by a group of sexy burlesque dancers.
The British former newspaper editor was tossed a pair of pink silky knickers worn by one of the Lollipop Girls, who wowed audiences in their bid for a place in the talent show's semi-finals.
The saucy 'Pussycat Dolls-esque' dancers stripped down to their sequined bras, stockings and suspenders during the routine, and tossed their flimsy smalls out into the audience.
When it came to judging, both Piers and fellow panelist David Hasselhoff were visibly hot under the collar.
"The Hoff" retrieved a pair of French knickers which had landed near their desk and flung them at Piers, who was reduced to a fit of giggles.
"Can I keep them?" he asked, before telling the 10-piece girl group from San Diego, California, that they were "very sexy".
"Ladies I could watch that for a long, long time. Very, very charming," he said.
Morgan and Hasselhoff sit on the judging panel with music mogul Sharon Osbourne, who was also bowled over by the act.

Tearful Holly Montag tells: 'Heidi is my angel'
Reality TV star Holly Montag broke down in tears on I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me out of Here! as she sobbed: "Heidi is my angel".
The new contestant, who arrived in the Costa Rican jungle this week to replace her sister Heidi and brother-in-law Spencer Pratt, became emotional as the group shared inspirational life stories.
The pretty star of The Hills, pictured with Stephanie Pratt, told fellow campers Heidi rescued her from a difficult period when her step-brother - a close friend - died serving in Iraq.
"My step-bother Eric who was serving in Iraq for five years, he was going to come back and we were going to move in together," she said.
"Then he ended up passing away so I didn't know what I was supposed to do.
"My sister, who is like my angel, saw what a hard time I was having for a couple of months back home in Colorado.
"She told me I needed a change and brought me to Los Angeles and sure enough put me on track for my dreams. My sister is my angel."
Montag was comforted by loud-mouthed ex-supermodel Janice Dickinson, who hugged her and said: "Your brother right now is so proud of you."
Andrew Shue shoo-shoos Melrose Place
A former cast member of Melrose Place, Andrew Shue has said his character is out with the old, a US report says.
Shue said, “They wouldn’t have my character [Billy Campbell] back on the show... My character was born out of the Nineties. It’s a different era now.”
He apparently believes the show should share the same fate.
“I thought for a while, ‘Yeah, it’s great.’ But now I think any great show that had its run and had its place in pop culture should only have one run. Melrose Place was a great show in its time, and if I were calling the shots, I would say don’t bring it back. Leave it as it was at its time. That’s the way it should be.”
Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro, original cast members, will be back for a remake, it was reported.
CW's new Melrose Place also comprises cast members Jessica Lucas, Stephanie Jacobsen, Katie Cassidy, Shaun Sipos, Colin Egglesfield, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Michael Rady.

The busy Wilson will next be seen starring in the comedy My Life in Ruins, which she also produces.
Larry King Gets Confused
While enjoying lunch at Nate n’ Al’s Deli in Beverly Hills, CNN’s Larry King approached Gwen Stefani for an autograph for his son. The No Doubt front woman signed her name on a napkin and even promised to send a signed picture in the mail. According to The Globe, Larry looked at the napkin and confessed “I thought you were Christina Aguilera.” Ooh, burn! That’s one way to keep someone’s ego in check. You have to admit though, with the same shade of platinum blonde and similar make up style, it’s not that hard to confuse the two singers. At least Larry was honest.
