Alleged 'Bling Ring' gang member accused of wearing Lindsay Lohan's necklace to court

A woman accused of being part of a gang who burgled the homes of some of Hollywood's biggest stars is facing new charges after appearing in court wearing a necklace allegedly belonging to Lindsay Lohan.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles have already charged Courtney Leigh Ames, 19, with two counts of receiving stolen property.

She is one of six people accused of being part of a gang - dubbed the 'Bling Ring' which burgled stars' homes including Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Orlando Bloom.

Other victims included Rachel Bilson, Megan Fox, Ashley Tisdale and The Hills celebrity Audrina Patridge.

Now an amended complaint accuses Ames of wearing a beaded necklace taken from Lohan's home to a December court hearing where she pleaded not guilty to burgling Paris Hilton's home.

Ames's lawyer, Robert Schwartz, said outside a pre-trial hearing in Los Angeles on Thursday: "She [Ames] was wearing a necklace. The issue is whether she knew it was stolen."

Ames is not charged with the August break-in at Mean Girls star Lohan's house.

And she pleaded not guilty to the new charges at a brief hearing.

She is due back in court on February 10.

Charlie Sheen's lawyer asks judge to allow star to visit wife in hospital

Charlie Sheen's lawyer filed legal papers today asking an Aspen judge to allow him to communicate with wife Brooke Mueller while she is in hospital.

In the papers, Sheen's lawyer, Richard Cummins, requested a change in Sheen's current restraining order, to allow him to speak to Mueller at her hospital bedside.

Cummins wrote: "[Sheen] is concerned and feels the necessity to assist and care for his wife."

Mueller is currently in intensive care in an LA hospital with a reported 105-degree fever, for which she is being treated with antibiotics.

It is believed that the problem relates to oral surgery that Mueller underwent earlier in the week.

The Two And A Half Men star arrived at the LA hospital this morning, despite the restraining order, which states that the parties concerned cannot have direct contact or direct communication, although it does not prohibit them being in the same room.

Mueller's lawyer, Yale Galanter, confirmed that she will be released from hospital today and that he expects the hearing on the restraining order to still go ahead as scheduled this Friday.

Sigourney Weaver to play a stripper in next movie

Sigourney Weaver will play a stripper in her next movie.

The 60-year-old actress said: "There's a project which sees me as an ageing stripper. But I can't say a lot about that one. It's going to be a surprise! I'm also playing the leading role in a film by Nicolas Roeg."

Weaver added: "I feel sexier than ever. I used to be really insecure. I hope I'll live up to 100 years. I never wanted to be like James Dean - die young and be famous afterwards."

Weaver explained that going with the flow was the best way to tackle age. "I don't try to look young at all costs. Why should you cast a 55-year-old looking like a 35-year-old, when you can cast a 35-year-old to begin with? If you look like 55 and feel comfortable with it, you will get casted [sic]. My roles have become more interesting with time."

Clothing giant suspends Charlie Sheen ads

Clothing giant Hanesbrands has dropped actor Charlie Sheen from its ads as he prepares to face charges following an alleged domestic violence incident over Christmas.

Hanesbrands spokesman Matt Hall said the seriousness of the allegations forced the decision to suspend the ads while the case plays out.

He said:"It's a pretty standard, straightforward call when somebody who's in your commercials is arrested on suspicion of something of this magnitude. And we would suspend the ads both for the company and, really, for Mr Sheen and his family as well. Given the publicity, it makes sense to not air those ads during that time."

The ads show Sheen with basketball great Michael Jordan. Sheen, star of Two and a Half Men, is expected to be charged next month over an incident with his wife Brooke Mueller.

Sheen has denied the allegation and he and Mueller requested that a restraining order separating them be lifted. A judge, however, upheld it.

Roman Polanski's three decade old criminal case to return to LA

Roman Polanski's criminal case will be exhumed in a Los Angeles court this week.

A court spokesman said a hearing would be convened on Wednesday following a failed attempt by lawyers for Polanski to seek dismissal of the case involving charges the director had unlawful sex with a minor in 1977.

Polanski remains under house arrest in Switzerland, where he convinced authorities he was not a flight risk on the provision of a $4.5million cash bail. The Swiss have yet to decide on an extradition request from the US.

But the California state appeals court has already ruled out any argument on Polanski's behalf in his absence.

Polanski's attorney, Chad Hummel, was not immediately available for comment. The Oscar-winning director fled to France on the eve of sentencing on a score of felonies in 1978 after spending 42 days at a California prison for a psychiatric evaluation.

According to reports, the divvying up of Ms Bertrand's estate was revealed in documents filed last week at Los Angeles Superior Court.

The actress died in January 2007 aged 57, following a seven-and-a-half year battle with ovarian cancer.

Polanski 76, is wanted in the US on 30-year-old child sex charges, while a Swiss decision on his extradition to the US is pending.

He continued:"I have been overwhelmed by the number of messages of support and sympathy I have received in Winterthur prison, and that I continue to receive here, in my chalet in Gstaad, where I am spending the holidays with my wife and my children. These messages have come from my neighbours, from people all over Switzerland, and from beyond Switzerland - from across the world."

Polanski, a French Pole, was said to have been indirectly assisted by the interest in the case of French Prime Minister Nicolas Sarkozy.

Polanski thanked his supporters. "I would like every one of them to know how heartening it is, when one is locked up in a cell, to hear this murmur of human voices and of solidarity in the morning mail. I would like to be able to answer all of them. But it is impossible: there are too many."

Fergie and Josh Duhamel out and about

The couple who are probably surprising everyone that they don’t get divorced given Josh Duhamel’s recent imprudence have surprised everyone even more by appearing at the debut of Fergie’s new movie, “Nine”. It seems that the two look like they have reconciled to some sort of degree… either that or Fergie’s new booze seems to be working better than expected. Or maybe they just didn’t want to ruin the premiere. Oh for the good old days of the Roman Empire when one could prance about with his wife on public occasions while maintaining a host of mistresses… or even medieval Japan, for that matter.
