Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has recently hosted her own garage sale

Desperate Housewives star Teri Hatcher has recently hosted her own garage sale at her house in Studio City, Los Angeles.

Teri, who raised $20,000 for Aviva Family and Children's Service in the sale, invited people to pay $50 each and browse a selection of items including never-before-worn clothes, Coach purses, Disney hotel packages and even a pair of boots signed by the 44-year-old's friend and Housewives co-star Eva Longoria Parker.

Hatcher said: "It has been a very successful, fun day."

Teri also added that it was her daughter, Emerson Rose, who came up with the idea.

After this Hatcher became motivated to plan the Hollywood sale and raise lots of money.

She said: "I was up all night. Once it was all set up, I realised there were thousands of dollars worth of stuff out here and I couldn't sleep. I'd come and patrol."

Teri added: "You get motivated by the giving. I can't wait for the next one!"
