Cannes goes dark in angry protests

Blackouts plagued Cannes and riot police stepped in to keep French electricity and gas workers off the Croisette, reports say.
The screening of Antichrist, a movie by Denmark's Lars von Trier that contains sexual mutilation, was affected.
Reports say audiences at the screening, which preceded one of the blackouts, were already gasping from the movie's graphic content.
A screening of I Love You Phillip Morris, where stars Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor were in attendance, was darkened when protesters managed to cut power.
The workers were marching to protest nationalisation of the electric and gas industries.
