Either David Archuleta is really a saint of a son or he’s brainwashed very well. Even though the American Idol contestant’s dad has been banned from being backstage, David says “I don’t really care what people say, but I know it’s affected him and stressed him out. I’ve heard some weird things that people have been saying, and it’s kind of a bummer. I think I, of all people, would know what’s going on, and he’s been great. He’s given me a lot of good advice and helped me from making any dumb decisions. He understands more than anyone what I want in music, and I’ve felt really blessed to have someone like that.” He’s just too nice!

Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon were spotted just as they were leaving Gyu-Kaku restaurant in Los Angeles, California on Monday night after enjoying a romantic dinner together. Nick’s half brother Reuben Cannon recently spoke to Usmagazine.com about the couple’s relationship saying that his brother “definitely wants kids” with Mariah but said “I am not sure exactly if now is the time… Both of their careers are crazy right now.” Doesn’t he mean Mariah’s career is crazy right now? Getting married to Mariah may have been the biggest thing to happen to Nick’s career. Can you imagine little Mariahs and Nicks running around any time soon?

When it rains, some people want it to pour. Not only does Madonna charge over $300 for the best seats on her tour but now she’s made a deal to get a piece of the ticket scalpers’ pie. The Queen of Pop is the first artist to make a deal with StubHub, which is owned by eBay and lets people to legally scalp, or resell, their concert tickets. What that means is, the higher you pay for your ticket on StubHub, the more money Madonna makes. I’m just really shocked that an artist like Madonna would actually encourage ticket scalping. Money doesn’t mean everything you know?

Travel back in time just a few years back and Brandy was one great hit maker in the R&B scene. Travel back to the present and her career has resorted to hosting the ‘Hot Hair Extravaganza’ for the Sensationnel Hair Fashion Company in Los Angeles this past weekend. This is something that you would see fallen American Idols doing, not some hit maker. But then again, after barely escaping manslaughter charges and judging ‘America’s Got Talent’, Brandy has been way past her music career’s prime. At least she didn’t host a dog show. Someone definitely needs a big career boost.

 

Kylie Minogue kicked off her much awaited new world tour in Paris, France on Tuesday night and it has the critics raving about it. Avril Lavigne is really milking the excuse that she’s been sick as the Canadian singer has angered what little fans she had left by canceling her show in Anaheim, California on Saturday with less than an hour before it was scheduled to start. Now that is cold! Her scheduled show in Los Angeles on Sunday was also cancelled. Who actually believes that she’s sick and just resting at home? For all we know, she could be throwing a party for not having to work for 2 days. She should just come out and admit it that it’s due to poor ticket sales that she’s cancelled several shows already. She’s probably gain some fans back for her bravado.

Beyonce Knowles has started work on her new album.

The 'Crazy in Love' singer - who married rapper Jay-Z last month - is back in a New York studio to record new material with production duo Chris 'Tricky' Stewart and Kuk Harrell.

Tricky said: "She's a professional. She loves what she does and works her butt off. Right now she's basically doing three to four songs a day and that's unheard of."

Tricky - who has previously worked with Rihanna and Mariah Carey - also revealed Beyonce could team up with Jay-Z. He added: "It's always a possibility. They worked together before, so it may be just a matter of getting the right record."

Meanwhile, it has been claimed Beyonce is pregnant.

The star - who has been plagued by pregnancy rumours ever since she wed Jay-Z in a secret ceremony on April 4 - is said to be expecting her first child and was keen to tie the knot before she had the baby. A source said: "Beyonce is 100 per cent pregnant, which is why the couple rushed their wedding. The wedding was thrown together so quickly because of Beyonce's strong Christian beliefs."

A Canadian lady who obtained John Lennon's hand written lyrics to Give Peace A Chance back in 1969 from Montreal's Queen Elizabeth Hotel is going to sell her treasure.

Gail Renard was 16 when she managed to sneak into the Lennon's room when they were doing the famous bed-in for peace.

John and Yoko invited the world's media to join them in their honeymoon suite in Toronto, and Gail managed to get in with the media.

John gave her the hand written lyrics for the song 'Give Peace A Chance', which he had just written in the room. She has kept for almost 40 years.

Christies will auction the lyrics on July 10. It is estimated to be worth $500,000

Miley Cyrus has gotten everyone’s panties in a bunch. Disney Channel, Hollywood stars, Annie Leibovitz and even Miley herself has been talking about her Vanity Fair scandal. Now, Christian groups are also talking about the 15-year old, demanding that Disney reprimand the star. The Christian Coalition of America (CCA) wants Miley to be held accountable for the photos. A rep of the CCA says “Disney should reprimand her. Miley should say it was a mistake and that kids have to be very careful at such a young age. Kids look up to her. Something needs to be done.” They also want an apology made during a televised press conference. What for? Obviously, Miley’s getting the attention she’s always wanted. Saying sorry will just be anti-climactic.

Britney Spears gave guests at a posh spa in California a shock yesterday, as she wandered into the gym wearing nothing but a towel. But, thankfully, it wasn't a case of her oddball behaviour returning. Britney had just completed a gruelling workout and popped into the changing rooms to take a shower. Before getting changed, she nipped back into the gym to grab a bottle of water, using only a towel to cover her modesty. The cheeky star couldn't hide her smirk, as gym-goers watched on in disbelief as the singer strolled back into the changing room. Britney has become a fitness fanatic as she prepares for her big music comeback. She's following an intense exercise regime in a bid to get back to her former pop star shape. And, with rumours that she's returned to the studio to lay down some tracks surfacing, the big comeback might not be too far away.

Amy Winehouse might not look like she’s doing anything productive these days but the ‘Rehab’ singer has scored a spot on this year’s UK Sunday Times ‘Rich List’. Apparently, the Grammy Award winner is worth an estimated $19.7 million. Now that’s a lot of money to buy crack! A Sunday Times ‘Rich List’ editor commented on Wino’s spot saying “Winning Grammys have given her a really good profile in the United States. She has such a smooth voice but let's hope she doesn't blow it all.” I couldn’t agree more. Don’t spend it all on heroin or marijuana now, you hear?!

She’s still in the process of getting divorced from the motocross rider Carey Hart but that’s not going to stop Pink from popping out with a new man. The singer was first spotted with Todd Morse, the guitarist from the band Juliette and Licks, at West Hollywood’s Key Club in March and then at the beach in Malibu on April 12. Now, just a few weeks later, it looks like the man is whipped as he was seen accompanying Pink during her shopping in Malibu, California on Tuesday. She moves on pretty quick. The 28-year old just confirmed her split from Carey back in February.

We’re just 4 weeks away from crowning another American Idol but before we can start placing any bets, the Idol wannabes still have to get through performing Andrew Lloyd Weber songs. Being that most of the songs come from Broadway musicals, it’s pretty obvious even before seeing the performances that the people with big voices will do better. Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson proved just that with their performances of “One Rock N’ Roll Too Many” and “Jesus Christ Superstar” respectively. Jason Castro and David Archuleta took on songs that were made for females with “Memory” and “Think of Me” respectively. Brooke White performed “You Must Love Me” with a dramatic start and stop beginning. David Cook proved that he was a well-rounded singer by performing “Music of the Night”.

Law enforcement sources reveal that Richie Sambora has been charged with two counts of DUI but was not charged with child endangerment. Toxicology results have returned showing that the Bon Jovi guitarist had a blood alcohol level of .13 – the DUI counts are for driving with a .08 or higher. If convicted, Richie may face 6 months in jail. Two minors, including his daughter, were in the vehicle when Richie was popped. Police brass recommended that prosecutors charge him with child endangerment but prosecutors along with rank and file cops disagreed. Considering that he was driving with a .13 blood alcohol level, they should change their minds about that.

Cameron Diaz is seeking 'medical attention' following the sudden death of her beloved father last week.

The actress' What Happens In Vegas co-star Ashton Kutcher revealed the news while in London promoting their new movie alone yesterday.

Ashton, hubby of Demi Moore, said: "Sadly she will not be joining us for the premiere as she has just lost her father and is under medical attention with stress at the moment. But she will be better soon."

He added: "I will be telling her of your get well soon wishes and condolences following her father's passing on."

On Saturday, the beautiful actress was joined by ex-lovers Justin Tmberlake and John Mayer at a memorial service in California.

Amy Winehouse will be late for her own funeral – if she even turns up.

The troubled singer was invited to the set of the new Bond film to get inspiration for the 007 theme she is recording. But the cast and crew, working near where the singer has been staying in Henley, Oxon, were stood up.

A source said: “It’s not easy getting Amy anywhere on time at the moment.”

Amy was later snapped in London making a late-night supermarket trip with pal Blake Wood, clutching a picture of her incarcerated hubby Blake Fielder-Civil.

She also had a cut on her arm that could have been: A) a ciggie burn, B) a wound caused by a rock of crack, or C) a DIY injury.

Mariah Carey struck some fabulous poses as she attends an autograph signing session for her new album ‘E=MC²’ at the Hard Rock Café in Universal City Walk this past Thursday. Mariah’s first single ‘Touch My Body’ which comes off of that album was her 18^th hit to reach number 1 which is a record! She was asked about her thoughts on that to which the 39-year old curvaceous singer replied with “I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world. That’s a completely different era and time.”

People magazine has always been one to play it safe when it comes to rumors so once they actually write about one, it’s almost 100% fact. And guess what? The magazine is now reporting that Ashlee Simpson really is pregnant. Apparently, a family friend sold out the recently engaged Ashlee and Pete Wentz and their little secret. The family insider not only confirms the pregnancy but also spills the beans that the couple is planning to hold their wedding next month in La Jolla, California which is just north of San Diego. With Ashlee’s dad Joe being a former pastor, who’s willing to bet that this is a shotgun wedding?

Britney Spears was involved in a car accident on Saturday night and she got her cleanness checked. But California Highway Patrol officers claim that it wasn’t because she was THE pop wreck that convinced them to perform the field sobriety test after the incident – it was just the timing. According to a CHP rep, there was “no odor nor any kind of erratic behavior” that could have suggested that Brit was under the influence during the 3-car fender bender around 8PM PT. It seems that it’s SOP that officers “do a standard check on most drivers, especially during those hours.” She still doesn’t know much about driving but at least she was clean!

Britney Spears crashed her car on Saturday night while allegedly putting make-up on.

The 'Toxic' star is claimed to have been preening herself while behind the wheel of her white Mercedes when she ran into the back of a Nissan car at 8.18pm on a Los Angeles freeway.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) accident report: "The collision occurred when the driver of the Mercedes, driving in the number three lane, in stop and go traffic failed to observe the vehicle directly ahead of her come to a complete stop. She attempted to brake but failed to stop her vehicle prior to colliding into the rear of the Nissan in front of her."
CHP Officer Patrick Kimball added: "Britney's car collided into the rear of a Nissan, which in turn hit another car."

The 21-year-old driver of the Nissan car said he had seen the 26-year-old singer putting on her make-up minutes before the crash, but was unsure whether she was still doing so at the time of the crash.

At the scene of the crash, officers gave mother-of-two Britney a field sobriety test which returned a negative result. Later that evening, Britney and her mother Lynne were driven by Britney's bodyguards to West Hollywood restaurant Dominick's for dinner.

While no injuries were reported, the Nissan driver has confirmed he is considering seeing a chiropractor about a back injury he claimed was caused by the accident.

There were no tickets issued at the scene of the crash.

It’s lasted longer than most people thought.

And now, judging by her latest comments, Paris Hilton's relationship with BENJI MADDEN could be the real deal.

The heiress, who is currently on tour with Benji's band Good Charlotte, left a message on her blog yesterday describing her feelings for the rocker.

Paris said: "I’ve never felt so happy and in love, Benji is such an amazing guy and life has never been better."

Moving stuff.

Though worryingly for Good Charlotte fans, it sounds like Paris is getting a little too into their tunes. I reckon she might fancy a brief cameo appearance on stage. She said: "It’s so much fun going to their shows every night, I now know every song off by heart. I love Good Charlotte, they rock."

 Mariah Carey was on German Idol this past weekend to “perform” her single ‘Touch My Body’ only to get some harsh criticism. A lot of people, even one of the judges, thought that the curvaceous diva was lip synching. If you get to see a video of the show, it really looks like she got a bit of “help”. That’s not the only time though. She also went on the UK’s Paul O’Grady show and it looked like she totally lip synched on her performance again! I kind of expect more from her. Maybe it’s just one of those things she does in Europe.

Tracey Gold, of Growing Pains fame, gave birth to her fourth son with husband Roby Marshall.  Dylan Christopher was born Tuesday night at 7:20 pm.  He arrived at Southern California's Tarzana Hospital, weighing 8 pounds 4 ounces and measuring 21 inches.

Tracey's rep, and proud grandfather, Harry Gold says, "Mom and baby are doing fine."

Dylan Christopher joins brothers Sage, 11, Bailey, 8, and Aiden Michael, 3.

Kevin Federline's lawyer says Britney Spears is back on track and headed in the right direction.  But she isn't there yet.

Mark Vincent Kaplan says, "Jamie is doing a really good job.  There was a situation and that seems to be stablized.  Does that mean she's cured?  Of course not."

Kaplan has noticed that press of Britney has been more positive lately.  However, he doesn't want people to stop watching out for her yet.  He still feels that Britney needs people checking up on her.

Jessica Simpson entered an L.A. hospital for a kidney infection.  She went in after running a fever.  

Her rep now says she "has been released and is doing fine."

Jess was in Iraq earlier this month performing for the troops.  In other time, she is working on a country album.

People are saying that Poison drummer Rikki Rockett had to cancel his gig this past Saturday night at his local coffee shop because of the Mississippi warrant that’s out for his arrest on sexual assault charges. He and his singer fiancé Melanie Martel were scheduled to play at Rattlesnake Slim’s in Newhall, California. But after the story of his warrant broke last week, Rikki called into Slim’s saying that they wouldn’t be able to perform due to what’s been going on and the crush of media that was sure to follow. But wouldn’t that be big money if he performed and lots of people showed up to watch the rapist?

Seems there was talk of a New Orleans wedding for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.  The supposed ceremony took place in a church on Saturday.  A close friend of the couple says, "no wedding".  

The two were in New Orleans a couple of weekends ago to break ground for Brad's Make It Right project, but not this weekend.  Instead, they've been in the Austin, Texas, area as Brad films his upcoming film Tree of Life.

Angelina recently confirmed another pregnanct and is the star of the upcoming Wanted, an action film opening in June.

Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentis finally let the bun out of the oven.  It has been confirmed that she is the proud mother of a baby girl.

Her rep released a statement, "De Laurentis and her husband Todd Thompson welcomed their first child, a healthy baby girl, on Saturday March 29 in Los Angeles.  Jade Marie De Laurentis Thompson weighed in at 5 lbs, 13 oz."

This is the first child for the couple.  Giada was surprised when she first found out, "When I found out I was pregnant, I was in complete chock.  I truly didn't believe it.

A very pristine in white Fergie showed of her shiny bling of an engagement ring as she was spotted exiting Sushi Katsu-Ya in Studio City, California after having a night out with her fiancé Josh Duhamel on Wednesday. And by the way, she also celebrated her birthday this week so happy birthday Fergie! The singer also took the time to squash the rumors as to whether she was pregnant. She said “I’ve never been pregnant and this is probably the 20th time people have said that. So, no, for the record!” She also said that if she will have a family, she’s going to do it right and getting married first before having a baby.
